This thread will be a dedicated space for my theories and silly stories inspired by The Thrill of The Chase. It will take some time for me to add them. Please enjoy and feel free to comment.
He was trying to get rid of all his riches so he would be allowed to enter into heaven.
"Anyone who dies with over $50 is a failure."
~ Forrest Fenn
Mathew 19:23-24 — Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
Fenn knew his time was coming soon, being the most spiritual guy around he also knew all about reincarnation. After years of thinking and planning he came up with a genius solution to give him a leg up in his next lifetime. He hid a treasure chest full of gold in the Rocky Mountains, then he made a poem which he instructed the masses to read over and over again, giving it the power to stay on peoples minds for years to come. He then advised people to show the poem to a child, but not to ask him why. He did this having faith that in his next lifetime, some adult would eventually ask him what he thought of the poem. This act would then jolt his memory and he would be able to simply go right, straight, to it.
Forrest Fenn obtained a new kidney from an underground agency in 1988. He was able to choose the spot in case the procedure went sideways, so he chose his favorite place on earth, Yellowstone National Park. The agency refused to take his money because he was such a good business man, what they wanted was for him to help them expand their business instead. Fenn refused, so the agency burned the place down in retaliation, hence the fires in Yellowstone that same year.
Year after year they pressured him to comply until one day he finally did. He hid a treasure chest full of gold in the Rocky Mountains for unsuspecting victims to find. Beware, for if you find the spot, you lose your kidney.
What does the devil love more than making deals for peoples souls? Forrest loved making deals and being tricky, so of course he was game. Unfortunately for the devil, Forrest made the contract using the same tiny fine print that worked so well for him in his olive jar. The devil wasn’t wearing his glasses that day, he thought he signed up to get 2 for 1 souls.
(Because there are 2 Forrest Fenns ~ shout out RahRah)
What he actually agreed to getting in this deal was the sole of a shoe and a fish named Sole, notice the capital S.
I’m not quite sure what F got in the deal, but you can bet your butt it was good.
Forrest shot birds out of necessity to help feed his family when he was young; not realizing how much he would miss it in his old age. Being a wealthy old man he had no excuse to shoot them anymore, and unfortunately for him, shooting innocent birds for the fun of it was frowned upon. He felt the cold sting of malcontent eyes everywhere he went, always watching him, always judging him; he had to do something to help quench his thirst; his blood lust for murdering birds, and so he hatched the perfect plan. It was an evolved idea and eggsactly what he needed. He launched a treasure hunt where he could metaphorically shoot birds down for ever more, and searchers were his new birds. Bang, Bang.
Forrest Fenn started the chase because he wanted to realize his dream of becoming an actor. He didn’t need talent to play the role of eccentric millionaire who hid a treasure, but he could certainly ham it up and enjoy the position while the fun lasted.
I’m not saying he was acting the whole time and that he didn’t really hide a treasure, although I have not discounted that possibility. I am saying he got the opportunity to act for a while and he seemed to enjoy it.
Forrest Fenn was a CIA agent and the treasure hunt was a lure to trap certain individuals. It was a ruse, a sting! To see if they would bite, he was after the big one, a whopper.
